Carrot on a Stick

Trivia

  • The Carrot on a Stick was an idea from Dinnerbone, the user who came up with the ideas for the ender chest, flower pot and item frames.
  • Pigs can go in one-block high gaps, but because players cannot, they will take suffocation damage should this happen.
  • Carrots on a stick are perfect for pig racing.

Crafting

The carrot must be placed at a diagonal below the fishing rod. It is possible to craft a carrot on a stick without a crafting table.

Ingredients Crafting Crafting is the method by which many blocks, tools, and materials are made in Minecraft. In order to craft something, players must move items from their inventory to a crafting grid. A 2×2 crafting grid minecraft recipe Description

Also, if the player holds a carrot on a stick, all pigs will follow the player.

To make the pig run faster, the player can press use while holding the carrot on a stick. This is called "boosting." Each boost costs 7 durability. If the carrot on a stick has less than 7 durability, the boost cannot be used. After a boost is used, the player may switch to another item while retaining the boost. If the carrot on a stick`s durability is depleted, it turns back into a fishing rod.

The speed of a mounted pig is at 4.00⃂m/s, boosting it doubles the speed to 8.00⃂m/s. Usage

When a pig is saddled, it can be controlled with a carrot on a stick. Point the stick in the desired direction, and the pig will follow, similar to holding a carrot without mounting. The pig will gradually eat away at the stick`s durability, though, leaving a regular fishing rod. When the fishing rod is right-clicked, a quarter of the durabilty will be spent, and the pig will temporarily double its speed.
